A 12-month preparation timeline for the Victorian selective entry exam

Months 1–3 are for foundations: vocabulary, reading stamina and arithmetic fluency. Reasoning strategy comes later, it needs raw skill underneath it.

Months 4–7 introduce timed sections. Students learn to triage questions and to leave a hard item without losing composure.

Months 8–10 are mock exam months. Full papers under real conditions, with percentile feedback so families can see movement objectively.

The final two months are polish: writing pieces marked weekly, targeted reasoning drills, and interview practice for scholarship applicants.
